Premier League: Aubameyang matches Bergkamp’s Arsenal record

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored an equaliser in 58th minute against Manchester United to match an exclusive goal record with Dennis Bergkamp.

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored an equaliser in the 58th minute against Manchester United in the Premier League to equalise an exclusive goal record. He joined a rare goalscoring club on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, as he became the second Arsenal forward to score seven times in the first seven clashes of a Premier League campaign. Aubameyang now shares his record in the Premier League with Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp. The Arsenal legend had achieved this record in the 1997-98 Premier League season.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay scored the opening goal of the match in the 45th minute, ensuring a 1-0 lead for the Old Trafford side. Aubameyang matched Scott McTominay's first-half strike as VAR overruled the linesman’s offside call in the second half, levelling the game 1-1. The Gabon international scored his 14th goal in his last 14 matches he started for the Gunners. He scored 22 goals in 36 matches in the Premier League last season.
