Young batsman Prithvi Shaw makes a return to the 15-member Mumbai squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after he was banned for eight months for doping violation. He will be eligible to play from November 17.
The opener, who played two Tests for India was banned from all forms of cricket by the BCCI for a period of eight months in July after he was tested positive in a doping test. Prithvi Shaw's ban ends on midnight November 15.
Mumbai Cricket Association on Thursday announced the squad for the last two games and for the super league stage of the national T20 tournament. The 20-year-old will be eligible to play only from the November 17 when Mumbai face Assam in their last league match at the Wankhede stadium. Mumbai have been unbeaten in the tournament so far, having won all their five games and are set to advance to the super league stage.
Last week, as Shaw turned 20, he posted a short video of him practising and captioned it: “I turn 20 today. I assure it will be Prithvi Shaw 2.0 going forward. Thank u for all the good wishes & support. Will be back in action soon.”

Prithvi Shaw had been training at the National Cricket Academy for the past few weeks before returning to Mumbai on Tuesday in the anticipation of straightaway getting into the Mumbai team. On Thursday, the 20-year old was included in the 15-member Mumbai team announced for the remaining group games of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and the Elite League starting in Surat on November 21.
