Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler bats for turning off stump mics post Vernon Philander abuse

Last week, England batsman Jos Buttler was subjected to a lot of flak after he verbally abused Vern Philander as retiring South African batted for his team on final day of second Test. England and South Africa are currently level 1-1 in four-match Test series with next match beginning on January 16 at Port Elizabeth. Buttler has come out and apologised for his actions on field.

After Jos Buttler was caught using s against Vern Philander on live television, Rajasthan Royals player faced a lot of criticism for t upholding spirit of game. It has w been reported that flashy batsman has been fined 15% of his match fee for breaching ICC Code of Conduct.

Talking to BBC Sport, Buttler apologised for his behaviour in match and emphasised that langu does t represent English team or game of cricket. Buttler also added that Test cricket tends to get intense and players may say things that do t mean much after end of day's play.

Although Englishman ackwledged that stump mics help in enhancing television viewership, y can create unnecessary controversy at times. Buttler's actions had polarised cricket world with former England player Kevin Pietersen coming to his countryman's defence.
