The flying ants were looming from the start of the South African run-chase, and their number kept on getting bigger and it reached an extent where their movement started to cause inconvenience to the players on the field. The on-field umpires quickly came into action and they decided to stop the play for a brief period. South Africa were 7/0, and only one over from their innings had been completed at that time.
