Rashid, the new skipper

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the squads which are freshly captained by young Rashid Khan. Afghanistan had a terrible outing at the 2019 Cricket World Cup under Gulbadin Naib's captaincy. This may be the primary reason behind Rashid being the new captain of the white-ball Afghani side. Some players who have made their way into the squad through their performance in the Sphageeza Cricket League are Javed Ahmadi and Ibrahim Zadran. Some players who were dropped from the squad are Shafiqullah Shafiq, Dawlat Zadran, Shahidullah Kamal, Fazal Niazai and Najeeb Tarakai.
