Ravichandran Ashwin's birthday: BCCI hails Team India's spin king

On his birthday on 17 September, the BCCI's social handle took to pay teribute to Ashwin and turned the clock back to three very imporatnt milestones of Aswin.

One of most prominent Test players for India, Ravichandran Ashwin has been a treasure to Indian spin bowling for over seven years w. right-arm-off-break bowler from Tamil Nadu has played 65 Test matches picking up 342 wickets while adding ar 150 scalps to his name from 111 games of limited over formats. Ravi Ashwin was go to bowler for former skipper MS Dhoni and he has mand to single handedly terrorize opposition with his spell-bound deliveries. Ashwin, who was once India's top bowler across all formats, has w devoted his career to longer format of game. On his birthday on 17 September, BCCI's social handle took to pay teribute to Ashwin and turned clock back to three very imporatnt milestones for spinner.

Happy birthday Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has enjoyed ermous sucess over years with ball and has often left batsmen bamboozled in crease. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up his 100th Test wicket, dismissing n West Indies skipper, in  match against Windies in 2013. His 200th Test wicket was scalp of New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson in 2016. monumental 300th wicket came in match agaist Sri Lanka at Nagpur in 2017 as he helped India clean up Sri Lanka for just 166 runs, winning contest for India. BCCI took to share a compilation of se precious moments on Ravichandran Ashwin's birthday on micro-blogging website. Here's tweet from BCCI:

A bew beginning for Ravi Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin is all set to join Delhi Capitals for next edition of IPL after Kings XI Punjab decided to release ir skipper of last two seasons. KXIP releasing Ashwin was on expected lines after franchise finished seventh in 2018 and sixth in 2019 under his leadership. Former India captain and Delhi Capitals mentor Sourav Ganguly said that ir franchise will be happy to have senior India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in ir ranks for upcoming Indian Premier League. Ashwin has played 28 IPL games for KXIP, taking 25 wickets and scoring 146 runs which at best could be termed modest.

"Ashwin's release approval is already with BCCI and an anuncement is likely soon. Delhi Capitals showed interested in him and KXIP, after thinking it through, felt y needed a younger spinner in squad," a source close to development told PTI.
