Ravindra Jadeja Scalps Wicket No. 300 During IND vs BAN Test, Becomes 2nd Fastest to Reach Milestone

Ravindra Jadeja has scalped his 300th test wicket during the India vs Bangladesh Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Ravindra Jadeja was at 299  wickets as he arrived for the Kanpur Test to secure the coveted landmark. The all-rounder was struggling to take wickets when he was finally handed the ball in Day 4 of the Kanpur Test. India began dominating with the ball as they took some critical scalps. The veteran India all-rounder then put the sweet ending to Bangladesh 's innings as he took the final wicket and also secured a historic milestone in the process.

India All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja Secures Historic Double After Securing 300 Wickets and 3000 Runs in Test Cricket

Ravindra Jadeja has scalped his 300th test wicket during the India vs Bangladesh Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. He is now the 2nd quickest to reach the 300 wicket mark. Jadeja bowled the delivery to Khaled Ahmed and he hit it across, and the Indian all-rounder's instincts worked well as he took the catch with ease. It also ended Bangladesh 's innings as they were bowled out for 233 shortly after lunch.

The other Indian bowlers who have taken 300 Test wickets or more include table leader Anil Kumble (619), R Ashwin (524), Kapil Dev (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Ishant Sharma (311) and Zaheer Khan (311). With his feat in his 74th match, Jadeja also became the second quickest to complete the double of 300 wickets and 3000 runs in Test cricket behind England great Ian Botham.

Jadeja's scalp ended Bangladesh 's innings as India bowled them out for 233 in their first innings on the fourth day of the second Test on Monday. Mominul Haque was unbeaten on 107 with BAN scoring their runs in 74.2 overs. The visiting side resumed their batting at 205 off six wickets and  they were able to add just 28 runs for the loss of four wickets in the post-lunch session.

Apart from Jadeja picking up his 300th wicket, Jasprit Bumrah (3/50) picked up three wickets, while Akash Deep (2/43), Ravichandran Ashwin (2/45) and Mohammed Siraj (2/57) shared six wickets between them.
