BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy on Friday took to Twitter and expressed his distress over the alleged treatment given to former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He went ahead and termed the treatment given to MS Dhoni as 'Ingrained jealousy of Indians'.

This remark of Swamy comes a day after Chief Selector MSK Prasad mentioned that it's time to think beyond Dhoni and it reflected in their team selections. "I made it very clear, post World Cup that we are moving on. We are giving opportunities to youngsters and see that they establish themselves in the side. With Rishabh Pant doing so well and Sanju Samson coming into the side, I am sure, you must be understanding our thought process," Prasad said.

The lack of updates and the unavailability of Dhoni made speculation run wild on social media platforms. However, it is reported that Dhoni is unavailable till November end. His unavailbility is further communicated to the BCCI and the selectors by Dhoni's team in September and again in October. He will be available for selection only from December against the West Indies series.

Divided opinions on MS Dhoni

His successful captaincy approach, his quick-fire finishing knocks and his ability behind the stumps won India more matches and trophies than any other captain before. However, sport can be cruel at times. On multiple occasions, fans would rather blame an icon for the entire team’s downfall instead of remembering everything he did for the country.  Dhoni's unavailability from the recently announced Indian squad for Bangladesh series gave way to speculations. While some think Dhoni should hang up his boots and pass the keeper’s baton to youngsters Rishabh Pant, there are also some who think MS Dhoni's presence in the team is invaluable.
