This was India's first home Test series loss in 12 years. This series loss has dented India's hopes of playing the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. India's fortunes changed quickly after their stellar Test series victory against Bangladesh which was played just before the New Zealand series.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli , the senior most members of the Indian team have been called out due to their lacklustre batting and dismal form.
