India tour of Sri Lanka: The Indian team, under the leadership of new T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir is all set to kickstart a new journey in the post Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli era. The team is currently in the transitional phase in T20Is and their first test comes against Sri Lanka who currently are dealing with problems of their own. India will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in the island nation.

Recently, former T20I skipper recreated Lionel Messi's iconic walk when India won the T20 world Cup. Shreyas Iyer too tried and replicated Messi's iconic FIFA World Cup celebration when Kolkata Knight Riders clinched the IPL title for the third time. India youngster Rinku Singh too tried to copy Lionel Messi's iconic celebration during Team India's official photoshoot before the Sri Lanka tour kicks off. Rinku Singh travelled with the Indian team as a reserve during their victorious World T20 campaign, but failed to get a game. The KKR batsman might end up playing in Sri Lanka as a finisher.

The Gautam Gambhir Era Begins
Former India player and winner of the 2007 T20 and 2011 ODI World Cups, Gautam Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as the Head Coach of Team India. Dravid's coaching sting ended on a high note as Team India outplayed South Africa in the finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup and won the coveted trophy for the second time across nine editions. Gambhir's stint with the Indian team will last for the next three years. Under Gambhir, the Indian team will play 5 ICC events. While SKY leads the Indian team in the T20Is, Rohit will continue to lead the Indian team in Tests and ODIs.
