Duleep Trophy: With a day to go for the start of Round 2 of the Duleep Trophy, the buzz is palpable. The first round of matches at the Duleep Trophy was riveting and hence the second round promises more. For years, Duleep Trophy has served as a pedestal for young players to showcase their skills and make a statement to the selectors. In the first round, India B and C emerged victorious. But come round 2, things will change as a number of international stars would be on national duty. For example, Shubman Gill and a few other would not be there. So, who would be the players to watch out for in round two?

Rinku Singh: The white-ball specialist has got a call-up for the Duleep Trophy thanks to his good show in the recently-concluded UP T20. Spotlight would be on him to see how he copes up in red-ball cricket. Does he have the right temperament and patience?

Shreyas Iyer: He was out-of-reckoning after he skipped a few Ranji Trophy games, but again, he has now earned his chance. He would look to make the most of it and make a case for himself in front of the selectors. He would need a big knock to get in the reckoning for a Test comeback.

Mayank Agarwal: Another player who has now gone out-of-favour with the selectors. The classy right-hander, who would lead India A, would look to produce something special and make it difficult for the selectors. India A lost their first-round game and will now look for some inspiration from Mayank.

Washington Sundar: The lanky all-rounder is highly-rated in the domestic circuit. He has got opportunities at the international level, but has failed to cement his spot. He should look at the Duleep Trophy tournament as a chance to get back in the reckoning for the national side.
