In the Domestic cricket league, Rishabh Pant made his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2015-16 season of the tournament. Playing for Delhi, Pant also made his List A debut in the same year. In the following Ranji season, the then 19-year old smashed a triple century against Maharashtra and also scored the fastest century of tournament's history in the same season.
Rishabh Pant made his international debut in a test match against England and his ODI debut against West Indies in 2018. In only the third Test of his career, the left-hander scored his maiden international century at The Oval by scoring 114 off just 146 balls. He made another century a few months later during India’s victorious ‘Border-Gavaskar Trophy’ campaign in Australia. In the ongoing test series against South Africa, Wriddhiman Saha has replaced Rishabh Pant.
On October 1, while announcing about Pant being replaced, Virat Kohli had said, "Saha is fit and fine to go. He is going to start for us in the series. His keeping credentials are there for everyone to see. He has played for us whenever he has gotten the chance. According to me, he is the best keeper in the world. In these conditions, what he has done for us in the past, he will start for us.”
