The first Test match between India and Australia will take place at the Perth stadium from November 22 onwards. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is likely to miss the opening match due to personal reasons. Jasprit Bumrah , the vice-captain of the Indian Test team, is expected to take charge in Rohit's absence. KL Rahul , on the other hand, is touted to grab the opening slot in the batting line-up.
The Indian cricket team has already started practicing for the first Test match. The entire group was seen training hard in the nets at the WACA ground. A spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final will be at stake in the series with both Australia and India likely to go all guns blazing for it.
India have won the last four Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, including two on Australian soil. The Aussies will also be looking to avenge the humiliating defeats at home that India handed on their previous two visits, especially the most recent one when India won with their second-string side.
