Rishabh Pant will be desperate to pay back faith reposed in him by team manment when India look to steamroll West Indies with ar dominant show in second World Test championship encounter starting on Friday. Having won first Test by 318 runs, India are runaway favourites going into second and final match at Sabina Park against a team that neir showed resolve r aptitude required to put up a sustained fight in five-day cricket. Ajinkya Rahane and Hanumana Vihari struck good form in previous match, with Ajinkya Rahane anuncing his comeback with a century while Vihari scored a significant half-century. Jasprit Bumrah too steamrolled through Windies line-up, making his maiden entry into ICC Test rankings.

Rishabh Pant will be expected to perform

" conditions here are good and pitch also looks good. We are expecting ar good performance," bowling coach Bharath Arun said on Wednesday. Jasprit Bumrah (match haul of 6 wickets) and Ishant Sharma (8 wickets) exposed opposition's technical frailties and y will be gunning for more in second game. It is unlikely that India will be tinkering with ir playing XI after a big win even though Pant's form has been a bit of a concern of late. More than runs scored, it is manner of his dismissals that is causing frustration, considering that Indian cricket establishment has invested heavily in 21-year-old from Rourkee. His sequence of scores across formats during this current tour has been 0, 4, 65 t out, 20, 0, 24, 7. With veteran Wriddhiman Saha back in dressing room and gutsy Kona Bharat waiting in wings, Pant can ill-afford to take things for granted, especially kind that one saw in second innings of first Test. pressure was completely off after India took a handsome lead. What side required from flamboyant left-hander was something in range of a solid 30 t out but what it got instead was ar impetuous shot. slog-sweep has brought about his downfall more often than t and save a fifty in dead rubber in T20 series, he has done precious little with bat.

India may t experiment with playing XI

Opener Mayank Agarwal wasn't in his elements eir in first Test but it is expected that he would get ar opportunity, which he rightfully deserves having worked hard in Australia. Indian middle-order performed admirably with Ajinkya Rahane back in form with an under-pressure half-century and a century.  Hanuma Vihari also justified his selection with a 93 in second innings, meaning that Rohit Sharma's wait to make side could just get a bit longer. However, Agarwal would be on his toes. He may t get too many opportunities if team manment decides to fit in an impact player like Rohit at top of order alongside KL Rahul in coming Test series against South Africa at home. While Rohit's technique against moving red ball is a bit suspect but in sub-continent, he could prove to be a handful. pace bowling was near flawless in first game with Ishant and Bumrah looking menacing with five-wicket hauls each. Even Mohammed Shami was very effective in short bursts while Ravindra Jadeja proved his utility as an all-rounder.   "Any seamer are at ir best when y are getting wickets. five-wicket haul for both (Ishant and Bumrah) of m will give m tremendous confidence. Also, Shami looked good whenever he was given ball and it augurs well for team," Arun said.

For West Indies, re hasn't been much to write home about as ne of ir players even got a half-century in two innings. Talented players like Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope didn't measure up while rmally dependable Roston Chase also looked out of sorts in second innings. only saving grace for m was new ball pair of Shann Gabriel and Kemar Roach, who bowled ir hearts out without much support from ors. West Indies will look to grab a victory as y have already been whitewashed in ODIs and T20s.
