Rizwan Was Initially Reluctant But Later Accepted Pak White-ball Captaincy: Sources

Pakistan 's new white-ball captain Muhamm Rizwan, after initial reluctance, has agreed to PCB's new selection policy and will not have any voting right in short-listing of touring squs or playing eleven, according to a source in board.

"After discussions with (Pakistan Cricket) Board chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and senior selector, Aaqib Javed, Riwan agreed to new system where his input in selection process would be strictly visory," a source said.

Pakistan's white-ball he coach, Gary Kirsten, resigned on Monday as he did not agree to be a part of selection process in an visory capacity. He also h some or issues with PCB.

source said that Rizwan h been assured by PCB and Aaqib that he would be consulted in finalising teams but final decision would rest with five selectors.

"Under new policy, selection committee is now responsible for selecting touring squs and playing eleven," source said.

new regime was introduced by PCB after Pakistan suffered a massive defeat against England in first Test in Multan earlier this month.

Following innings defeat, new selectors Aaqib, Azhar Ali and Aleem Dar were ded to committee and y were given sweeping powers to select teams without consent of captain or he coach.

PCB is also sending national selector As Shafiq with team to Australia for white-ball matches to select playing eleven after speaking with or selectors in Pakistan.
