Robin Uthappa took fans back in time as he smashed a breathtaking 27-ball 66 in a National Cricket League match versus Texas Gladiators. His brilliant knock also helped the Chicago side post a mammoth 173 for two in 10 overs. Uthappa's knock was laced with seven sixes and five boundaries. Also, during his stay, he stitched a splendid 112-run stand in merely 38 balls with Chris Lynn. The veteran Australian cricketer remained unbeaten on 60* off 23 balls. Usman Rafiq with two wickets was the pick of the Gladiators' bowlers. In fact, the two wickets he picked were the only scalps for the Gladiators.

Uthappa, a T20 Maverick

Uthappa, who is an IPL veteran, has been arguably the best T20 player for India. In his prime, he was a massive threat to the bowlers. He was also part of the 2007 T20 World Cup squad. He was also an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders set up in the IPL. Uthappa was part of the winning 2014 campaign for KKR in the IPL. Even at 38, he remains a threat to bowlers as the Gladiators found out on Monday. The final of the ongoing tournament takes place on October 15.
