Robin Uthappa’s top 4 IPL innings
83* (51) – KKR vs RCB, 2014
In a crucial home game during the fag end of the tournament, the Gautam Gambhir-led KKR faced Virat Kohli's RCB. Riding on Uthappa’s unbeaten 83 from just 51 balls, Kolkata posted a huge 195-4 batting first. His match-winning knock included 10 boundaries and a six and it also earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
80 (52) – KKR vs MI, 2014
The 2014 edition simply belonged to Robin Uthappa as he scored heaps of runs at the top of the order throughout the tournament. In another match-winning exhibition of batting, Uthappa made light work of a tricky run-chase against the likes of Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha. The right-hander scored a fluent 80 from just 52 balls, which included nine fours and three sixes.
22 (8) – RCB vs KXIP, 2010
Before becoming KKR’s most reliable opening batsman, Robin Uthappa was an explosive finisher for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In an away game against Kings XI during the IPL 2010, RCB were left to require 48 runs from their final four overs. Newcomer Uthappa immediately turned the tide of the match with a whirlwind short stay at the crease. He rattled Brett Lee with two huge sixes and a boundary in the 17th over of the innings. RCB eventually won the game with five balls to spare.
53 (28) – KKR vs KXIP, 2016
Chasing a modest total, the right-handed batsman smashed the Kings XI bowlers to all corners of the PCA Stadium. In one of his quickest IPL half-centuries, Uthappa scored 53 runs from just 28 balls. His innings included nine boundaries as KKR won that contest with almost three overs to spare.
