The Indian team had traveled to Australia in three batches between November 9 and 11, but Rohit Sharma stayed back to welcome his second child.

India and Australia are all set to play the first Test of their five-match series in Perth starting November 22. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the Indian team in the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma , who did not travel with the side because of the birth of his second child. Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh gave birth to a baby boy on November 15.  

Rohit Sharma's arrival date in Australia revealed

According to Cricbuzz, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is set to join his teammates in Perth on November 24, marking his arrival midway through the first Test against Australia at Opus Stadium. As per the report, Rohit has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he will join the Indian team on Sunday. 

The Indian team had traveled to Australia in three batches between November 9 and 11, but Rohit Sharma stayed back to welcome his second child. Speculation surrounded his arrival date in Australia, with some reports suggesting he would arrive in Perth before the first Test on November 22. However, it has now been confirmed that Rohit will join the squad on Sunday, November 24.

Rohit Sharma is expected to take charge of the Indian team from the second Test match onwards. The second game is scheduled to take place in Adelaide from December 6 to 10. It will be a day-night Test match and will be played with the pink ball. Before the second Test match, India are slated to play a tour game against PM-XI in Canberra.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on veteran batter Virat Kohli , who is expected to bounce back from poor form in Test cricket. Kohli has scored just two centuries in the last five years and has averaged below 30. Kohli has always loved scoring in Australia and what better time to get back in his groove once again?
