Rohit Sharma creates an unique record in IND vs PAK Asia Cup clash, leaves MS Dhoni behind
After the highly anticipated IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 match was washed out, Team India will now face Nepal in a must win clash in Kandy on September 4.

The India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match was called off due to rain. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma was bundled for a score of 266 runs in 48.5 overs as Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi ended the innings with a four-wicket haul. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was the top scorer of the Indian innings and scored 87 runs off 90 balls.

Rohit Sharma leaves behind MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in major record
Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma was not able to do much in the IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 match and was dismissed for a score of 11 runs off 22 balls by Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. However, despite his failure, Rohit left behind Indian greats like MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin in a major record.
Rohit Sharma has now become the Indian player to play in most editions of the Asia Cup. Sharma is representing the Indian team in his eighth edition of the Asia Cup (across all the formats). Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in the second spot and has represented India in seven editions of the Asia Cup. Jadeja is followed by Virat Kohli and legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, who have six appearances to their name.

Team India top order rattled by Pakistani pace attack in Kandy
After electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Indian cricket team top order consisting of batters like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer were removed by Pakistan pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi for a mere score of 66 runs. Batters like Rohit, Virat and Shubman were cleaned up by Shaheen and Rauf whereas, Iyer was dismissed after being caught at mid-wicket. The Indian team will now face Nepal on September 4 in a must-win match whereas, Pakistan are already through to the Super 4 stage.
