India's dismal start to the Test series against New Zealand just got worse, with a missed catch by KL Rahul and Virat Kohli handing Tom Latham a lifeline. The incident occurred in the 13th over, with Mohammed Siraj inducing an outside edge from Latham's bat. However, the usually reliable Rahul and Kohli had a miscommunication, leaving the catch unclaimed.

The incident only added to India's woes, who were already reeling from their lowest-ever total in Asia and third-lowest overall.

The missed catch, however, wasn't a costly mistake, as Tom Latham went on to be dismissed for 15 runs. Kuldeep Yadav provided the much-needed breakthrough.
After bundling out India for a record low of 46, New Zealand batted confidently to reach 82/1 at tea in their first innings to claim the upper-hand over the shocked hosts on the second day of the opening Test in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Devon Conway did the bulk of scoring for the visitors before being dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin toward the backend of the play on Day 2. Conway scored a fifty in 54 balls. New Zealand are batting well as they have scored 166/3 in 41 overs at the time of writing this story.
