Rohit Sharma leapfrogs Virat Kohli in T20Is; becomes top-scorer again

Rohit Sharma surpassed Virat Kohli's record in the first T20I against Bangladesh to become the highest run-getter in the shortest format of that game

Rohit Sharma on Sunday surpassed Virat Kohli's record in first T20I against Bangladesh to become highest run-getter in shortest format of that game. India, however, lost match as Bangladesh Captain Mahmudullah finished off in style to take Bangladesh home. Sharma played a kck of nine runs to leapfrog Kohli as highest run-getter. By doing so, he took his run tally to 2,452 runs, going two runs ahead of Kohli's total.

Furrmore, with yesterday's match Sharma also became most capped player for India in shortest format of game. He has w played 99 matches for Men in Blue, breaking MS Dhoni's record of 98 appearances.

Rohit Sharma’s T20I captaincy record

Four-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma has successfully led Team India to impressive victories whenever regular captain Virat Kohli made himself unavailable. With a win percent of 80%, Rohit Sharma holds a better success rate than or T20 veterans like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Sharma has also led India in 10 ODI matches.

Rohit ackwledges Bangladesh's effort

Bangladesh also registered its first victory against Men in Blue in T20 cricket. Rohit heaped praises on Bangladesh for putting up a brilliant show, outclassing India in game. "t to take credit away from Bangladesh. y put us under pressure right from start when we were batting," he said.
