'I don't think I'm completely out': Rohit Sharma makes a big statement on T20I retirement
Rohit Sharma has played a whopping 159 T20I matches for India since his debut in 2007. He was part of the Indian team that won the inaugural T20 World Cup.

India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma has made a big statement ahead of the first One-Day International against Sri Lanka. During a pre-match press conference, Rohit said that it still doesn't feel like he has retired from T20 cricket for India. Rohit Sharma recently led India to their second T20 World Cup title after a gap of more than 17 years.
After helping India end their 11-year-long ICC trophy-winning drought, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is. Along with Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja also stepped down to make way for the younger generation. However, Rohit has now commented on his T20I retirement which has raised eyebrows.

Rohit Sharma makes a big statement on T20I retirement
Before the first ODI against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma said that it feels like he has been rested from T20Is and will be called back when a big tournament comes up. Rohit further added that it doesn't feel like he is completely out of the format. This statement of Rohit Sharma has created a lot of buzz with many speculating his return to the Indian T20I side.

"This is what I feel like till now. I felt like I've been rested for the T20s, like it used to happen earlier and there will be a big tournament coming up and we have to get ready to T20s again. Still feel it is like that. So I don't think I'm completely out of the format," Rohit Sharma said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Rohit holds the record of playing the most number of men's T20I matches in the world. Rohit has also scored the most number of runs in the format.

Rohit has 4231 runs which he has scored with a strike rate of 140.89. He has scored five centuries in the format for India. Rohit played a crucial role for India in the recently-held T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. He batted well in most of the matches especially in the knockouts when it mattered the most.
