Rohit Sharma: A throwback to his record 4th T20I ton vs WI last year

Rohit Sharma is the first batsman to score four tons in the shortest format of the game going past New Zealand's Colin Munro, who has scored three centuries.

Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen in modern-day cricket. The Team India opener is known for his elegant strokes and big-hitting abilities due to which he can change the game for his side on any day.

He holds a plethora of records in all three formats of the game and is the only batsman who has four centuries in T20I cricket. On November 6 last year, the Mumbai player made history in Lucknow that will be etched in the memory of Indian cricket fans.

The Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow played host to 2nd T20I match between India and West Indies. After a poor outing in the first match, he went after the West Indies bowlers, smashing almost every delivery to all parts of the ground. He remained unbeaten at the end of the innings on 111 from 61 balls and hit 8 fours and 7 sixes, helping India finish the innings at 195/2 from 20 overs.

Records that Rohit Sharma holds

Apart from hitting his 4th T20I hundred, he also became the first batsman to score four hundreds in the shortest format of the game, going past New Zealand's Colin Munro, who has scored three centuries. Rohit also crossed the 2000-run mark and was the fifth batsman in men's cricket to do so. He became the second Indian cricketer and third Indian overall after women's team star Mithali Raj and Virat Kohli to score 2000 runs in the format.

The Mumbai Indians skipper also holds the record of hitting 10 sixes in an innings that he hit against Sri Lanka in Indore last year. He is also India's most prolific six-hitter in T20Is, going past Brendon McCullum on the list of most T20I sixes with 109 of them to his name.
