India tour of Sri Lanka: Rohit Sharma has taken some time off and is enjoying his well earned break with his family. The Indian skipper led his team to an emphatic victory in the recently concluded T20 World Cup finals which was played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Rohit Sharma has now become, only the third Indian captain to win an ICC trophy after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. Sharma is also the only India captain to lead India to 50 T20I wins.

Earlier today various reports floated that Gautam Gambhir had spoken to Rohit Sharma and had asked him join the Indian team for the Sri Lanka ODIs. Rohit Sharma who had been on the road for four continuous months playing for India had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a break. Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli were rested for the Sri Lanka ODIs, but it now seems that Rohit might cut short his vacation and return to the Indian blues to lead the team.

Gautam Gambhir has taken over as the head coach of the Indian team as Rahul Dravid's tenure came to an end. Former Head Coach Dravid ended his tenure on a high as the Indian cricket won the T20 World Cup under his guidance. Rahul Dravid's stint with the Indian team lasted for almost three years. Gambhir's stint with the Indian team will also last for three years. India will play five ICC tournaments in the next three years with Gambhir as their Head Coach
