Rohit Sharma is now a World Cup winning captain, a feat that he longed to achieve. On June 29, 2024, Rohit Sharma led his Indian team to a famous and iconic T20 World Cup win. This was India's second ICC Men's T20 World Cup win across nine editions. Sharma is now the only third India captain after MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev to win an ICC event and get his hands on the coveted silverware.

Rohit's number plate read '0264' and it has a special connection to his ODI record. Back in the day in 2014, Rohit smashed 264 in an ODI against Sri Lanka and till this date it remains the highest individual score in the fifty over format. Sharma also took out a moment to greet his fans and acknowledge all the love that they shower on him.

Rohit Sharma's Next Big Test
Rohit announced his retirement from T20Is just hours after India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He will continue to play for India in the Tests and the ODIs. The T20 World Cup victory is now a thing of the past and Sharma will have his eyes set on the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India travel to Australia for a five-match Test series in November this year.
