IPL 2025 Mega Auction: So many speculations surrounding Rohit Sharma's IPL future, where will he eventually go is the question. The 37-year old is certainly in no mood to call it a day despite having retired from T20Is. While a few reports suggest that Mumbai Indians would retain him and let captain Hardik Pandya go, Sanjay Bangar, Punjab Kings head of cricket development has hinted that they could be interested in Rohit provided they have the purse. Bangar reckons if Rohit is there at the auction, he will break the bank.

What Bangar Said…

"It all depends on whether we have the money in our pockets. If Rohit comes in the auction, I certainly believe, he is going to go for a high price," said Bangar in an interaction on the RAO Podcast Youtube channel.

A few months back when PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta was asked about Rohit Sharma as a possible option as Shikhar Dhawan was leaving, she rubbished it completely.

What Rohit Brings to The Table

First up, he brings six IPL titles along with him. He is the joint-most decorated player in IPL history, alongside Ambati Rayudu. He is experienced, has solid knowhow of the teams, players and the conditions which is invaluable. Rohit happens to be one of the few players who has played in all 17 seasons. In 257 matches, he has amassed 6,628 runs at an average of 29.72. He is also the leader of the side, so that is a big advantage in having the services of Rohit. He currently led India to the T20 World Cup title.
