Rohit Sharma writes heartfelt Insta post after playing his 100th T20I

Team India's stand-in-skipper Rohit Sharma on Friday achieved a major milestone after becoming the first Indian male cricketer to play his 100th T20I. He celebrated the milestone by scoring a quickfire 85 runs to help India level the three-match T20I series 1-1. Sharma's pyrotechnics helped India win the match with 26 balls to spare and also helped him bag the Player-of-the-Match award.

The right-handed opening batsman took to Instagram and shared an image of youngster Shivam Dube, who gave him a special cap to celebrate his achievement and said that he is indebted to have this opportunity to do something for the country.

Rohit Sharma's knock against Bangladesh at Rajkot
Chasing 154 runs for victory, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan went after the Bangladesh bowlers right from the word go. Sharma smashed six fours and six sixes in his 43-ball 85 before falling to spinner Aminul Islam. The series-deciding third match will be played at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on November 10.

Rohit Sharma breaks records in Rajkot T20I
Sharma became the first batsman to reach the 2,500-run mark in the shortest format, surpassing his current skipper Virat Kohli (2450 runs) to become the top run-getter in T20I cricket. Apart from that, he also equalled Kohli's record of most 50 plus scores in T20Is. Kohli has registered 22 fifty-plus scores in T20Is.

He also went past wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni to become the most capped player in the T20I format. Dhoni has played 98 games in the T20I format. The 32-year-old also bagged the record of hitting the most number of sixes (35) in T20Is as captain.
