Sachin Tendulkar tears apart Shahid Afridi. Here's how

After top cricketers breaking their silence on Shahid Afridi’s controversial remarks, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has finally broken his silence over the issue. In a strongly-worded statement, Sachin said,

“I think it’s obvious that we have capable people to manage our country. No outsider needs to tell us what we need to do.”

A day after Shahid Afridi dubbed the conditions in Kashmir as "appalling and worrisome" and called for United Nation's intervention to stop, top cricketers like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Kapil Dev and Mohd Kaif lashed out at the cricketer for his insulting remarks.

On Tuesday, Shahid Afridi had issued a tweet insulting India and backing terrorism following Indian security forces' unprecedented crackdown on terror in the Valley which dealt a massive blow to the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen's activities in the region.

When Republic TV confronted Afridi about his tweet, his hypocrisy stood exposed as he refused to utter a word about 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed. 

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army has formally thrown in its lot with Shahid Afridi following the former Pakistan cricket captain's unsolicited, uninformed and factually compromised tweet

The Pakistan Army's spokesperson, DG-ISPR (Director General-Inter Services PR) Asif Ghafoor had tweeted childishly over the issue, attaching a video and a picture of Afridi playing against India, captioning with cheerleader-like statements.

Earlier on April 1, Pakistan had reacted to the killing of terrorists in Kashmir and had called the slain terrorists "innocent Kashmiris." Pakistan's statement raised quite a few eyebrows as to whether the country was taking responsibility for brainwashing and training terrorists in the Valley. The statement, released by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that it "condemns the brutal and indiscriminate use of force by the Indian occupation forces that has resulted in the martyrdom of at least eleven young innocent Kashmiris in different incidents in Shopian and Anantnag in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK)."  

At least 11 terrorists, including top 'commanders', were killed while one ultra surrendered in three separate encounters in south Kashmir in a huge success for the security forces on April 1. Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police (DGP) S P Vaid had confirmed the reports and said that civilians were being evacuated from the respective areas.
