Sachin's son Arjun Tendulkar selected in Mumbai's senior squad for the first time

Arjun Tendulkar, 21-year-old left-arm pacer and son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, was picked in Mumbai's senior team for first time on Saturday, featuring in an extended 22-member squ for upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This was confirmed by Mumbai team's chief selector Salil Ankola on Saturday.

Apart from Arjun, ar pacer, Krutik Hanagavi, was also ded to a 22-member squ. "Earlier BCCI h asked to select 20 players. But later y said that 22 players can be selected in squ, accordingly two players were ded to squ," an MCA official stated according to PTI.

He has been playing -group tournaments for Mumbai and also has been part of team, which plays invitational tournaments. Earlier, pacer has bowled at Indian national team nets and also represented India U-19 team, when y h toured Sri Lanka in past. Mumbai squ is led by Suryakumar Yav and will be playing all ir matches in state capital.
Dhawal Kulkarni and Tushar Deshpande will spearhe pace bowling attack while Atharva Ankolekar and Shams Mulani will he spin department. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, national T20 championship, will begin from January 10, commencing delayed 2020-21 domestic season. Mumbai is placed in Group E which includes Delhi, Haryana, Kerala, Andhra and Puducherry. y play ir matches on January 11, 13, 15, 17 & 19.

BCCI h informed state associations of decision to organise T20 tournament through e-mail after having sought feedback from m on how state bodies wish to see domestic season pan out. Earlier, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said, " BCCI will subsequently seek furr feedback from members on organising any or domestic tournament/tournaments and a decision will be taken after group st of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Members are requested to factor a subsequent tournament in ir planning and make arrangements accordingly."
