Manjrekar had finally made peace with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from his own end after the latter played an innings reviving knock for the Men in Blue along with MS Dhoni that almost got them over the line against New Zealand in the first semi-finals played at the Old Trafford in Manchester on July 9. The former Indian batsman criticized Jadeja earlier, calling him a 'bits and pieces' cricketer, posted a message on Twitter, dedicated to the left-hand all-rounder for playing a fighting inning that saw India recover from an early collapse of the top-order.

During the post-match show, Manjrekar was asked if he was impressed with the left-handed all-rounder's abilities that had been put to display in the last two games, to which the former Indian batsman said, "By bits 'n' pieces of sheer brilliance, he's ripped me apart on all fronts."

Manjrekar had also been involved in a feud with former England cricketer Michael Vaughan, after the latter poked fun at Manjrekar for calling Jadeja a 'bits and pieces' cricketer. On multiple occasions, Vaughan has taken a dig at Manjrekar which eventually led to Manjrekar blocking Vaughan on social media.
