'It Is Incredible': Ricky Ponting Takes A Complete U-Turn On His Distasteful Remarks On Virat Kohli

India vs Australia Test Series: Gautam Gambhir 's fiery and unexpected response to former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting's concern over the form of India's premier batter Virat Kohli created a lot of  buzz. The verbal volleys fired from either ends has added a lot of spice to the  Border Gavaskar Trophy( BGT). When asked about the India Head Coach's response, the former Aussie skipper said he that was not surprised by the backlash from Gambhir. In addition to it, Ponting also seemed to have changed his stance on Virat Kohli and his dismal form.

Ricky Ponting Takes A U-Turn On Kohli Controversy

Ricky Ponting few days back, while speaking on the ICC Review, expressed his concerns on Virat Kohli's form. The former India skipper has scored just three hundreds in the past five years and Ponting highlighted this issue. Ponting also went to the length of questioning Kohli's place in the playing XI. Now after Gautam Gambhir's firm reply, the Australian skipper has justified his criticism of the former India skipper.

'I didn’t take a dig at him. In fact, I said that he has been good in Australia, and I am hoping to see him among the runs in the Test series. It is incredible how little things are taken out of context. He is a world-class player and his record over here is magnificent', Ricky Ponting said to Channel 7.

Ricky Ponting Sends A Stern Warning To India

India have already reached Australia and have begun training at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) ground, and that too behind closed doors. This strategy of India has left fans and experts curious. The pitch at Optus is predicted to offer bounce and pace for the Australian bowlers. While speaking to the same broadcaster, Ricky Ponting said that the Indian players, especially their batters will have to be at the top of their game. Bounce is something that the Indian players might not like. Ponting has always maintained that the Aussies will defeat India 3-1 in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
