selection committee, heed by MSK Pras, is where close to completing its tenure as per new BCCI constitution but new Board President Sourav Ganguly will decide wher panel completes mandated five years in office. selectors' term was four years according to old constitution but amended constitution, which has come into effect w, has a provision of a maximum of five-year term.    clause 26(3) of new constitution states: " person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee for a total of five years shall be eligible to be a member of any cricket committee."

Sourav Ganguly likely to take call on selectors

Pras (south zone) and Gagan Khoda (central zone) were appointed at 2015 BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) and technically ir term would end in September 2020 as per new constitution. On or hand, Jatin Paranjpe (East zone), Sarandeep Singh (rth Zone) and Devang Gandhi (east zone) have two years left as y started in 2016. matter is expected to be discussed during BCCI president Sourav Ganguly's meeting with selectors.

re is a clause in selectors' contract that states that renewal is required at every AGM. Since re were AGMs in 2017 and 18 due to Board being governed by Committee of ministrators, panel continued. Ganguly has indicated that Pras and Khoda are set to be replaced while Paranjpe, Gandhi, and Sarandeep have a year left. It is believed that Ganguly's statement was based on old constitution which h a provision of a four-year tenure -- three straight years and final year subject to extension.

"Still president can keep three, replace two or even ask Cricket visory Committee to pick five new members as a part of complete overhaul," a senior BCCI member told PTI on condition of anymity. "I hope concerned people apprise president that all selectors as per new rule, have some part of ir tenure left," he said. selection committee will be appointed by Cricket visory Committee (CAC) which will be picked during upcoming AGM of newly-elected Board.
