The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday unveiled its new logo along with the name of the designer. Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is the captain of the side and led them to a championship win last year, is being claimed to be the designer of Qalandars' new logo, which the franchise revealed ahead of the upcoming edition of the PSL. While some fans expressed their excitement over the news, the frenzy quickly died down as it emerged that the new logo was directly copied directly from a stock image website, AdobeStock.
'Have some shame'
Lahore Qalandars took to their official social media handles to unveil the new kit logo. The comment section of its post on Twitter was flooded by fans, who pointed out that the new logo was copied from an image on AdobeStock. "Have some shame @lahoreqalandars It's a stock logo, don't defame LQ for merch," one user wrote. "Sorry sir. Designed nahin downloaded hai!" another individual commented.
According to reports, Lahore Qalandars will unveil their new kit for the season in a few days from now. They are currently preparing for the upcoming edition of the PSL, which is scheduled to begin on February 13. The match will be played between the current champions Lahore Qalandars and last year's runners-up Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Shaheen, on the other, is returning from an injury that he suffered in 2022. He was ruled out of the Asia Cup last year due to the same injury on his knee. Shaheen returned to international cricket for the T20 World Cup in Australia but was ruled out mid-tournament after his injury aggravated. He was recently spotted training in nets and preparing for the upcoming edition of the PSL.
