International cricket finally returned to Pakistan last weekend as they continue to host Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series between September 27 and October 9. The series, which began with a washed-out abandoned game at the National Stadium in Karachi, will now move forward with the remaining matches of the tour. The three-match ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series. The entire ODI series will be played at the National Stadium while the T20Is will be played at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. After the Pakistan tour, the two teams will also contest two Test matches in the UAE starting December 2019. The Test series will also form a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship.

International cricket’s return also brought some of cricket’s yesteryear legends back to Pakistan. Former West Indian fast bowler Michael Holding is currently on a personal visit to the country as it currently hosts Sri Lanka. Last Sunday in Karachi, former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi hosted a dinner party for the legendary cricketer. They were also joined by Afridi’s former teammate Saeed Anwar. In a tweet, Afridi mentioned his gratitude towards Michael Holding for visiting Pakistan and also thanked Saeed Anwar for joining them.
Speaking to a Pakistani media outlet, Michael Holding said that he did not have any fear of his security while visiting the country. He was grateful to be back in Pakistan as he continued to appreciate the food and hospitality of the nation. His visit to the country also provided him with an opportunity to catch-up with other former Pakistani legends like Javed Miandad and Zaheer Abbas.
