Shakib-al-Hasan has no interests in Tests, reveals BCB chief

Banglesh cricket chief Nazmul Hassan said Shakib Al Hasan will remain as Test captain despite disliking format and expressing his reluctance to stay on following this week's embarrassing defeat to Afghanistan. Nazmul mitted all-rounder h shown little interest or enthusiasm for five-day game -- an attitude which would t have been helped by Monday's 224-run loss to Afghanistan in Chittagong. "We have ticed he did t have much interest in Test (cricket). You have seen that when we were touring foreign countries, he wanted to have a break during Tests," Nazmul told reporters in Dhaka late Wednesday. "Naturally he might have less interest. But we never heard that he has less interest in captaincy. If he is skipper, n he has to play. If you are t skipper, n you can skip," he said.

BCB chief says Shakib has interest in Test
Hassan's comments came after Shakib said he longer wanted to le side in Tests following chastening defeat to minws Afghanistan, who were playing only ir third five-day game. Banglesh became first team to lose to 10 different Test sides with defeat, which followed a lacklustre World Cup and 0-3 one-day whitewash by Sri Lanka in July. Shakib, who shone at World Cup with 606 runs and 11 wickets but was skipper for Sri Lanka tour, said his performances might improve if he relinquished captaincy. Furr, it was also learnt that Shakib was unhappy with team for being over-dependent on him and for blaming him for team's failures.
"It will be best if I didn't have to le," Shakib told reporters after Afghanistan loss. "I personally believe it will be good for my game. "And if I have to continue leing, n obviously re is a lot to discuss about (with board)," he said.
Hassan said he spoke with Shakib on Tuesday after Afghanistan loss, but that player did t raise any concerns.
"Our boys are emotional. I will speak with him when things get calm," he said. Shakib will w le Banglesh in a tri-nation Twenty20 tournament involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe starting in Dhaka on Friday.

Match against Afghanistan
Afghanistan was playing its third match after officially being recognized as a test-playing nation. Banglesh lost to Afghanistan by 224 runs on Monday. rains also interfered in last day of match series on Monday when 18 overs of game were left to be bowled. Later, Shakib’s wicket was taken which created pressure on team. Shakib explained that his team will have to play well consistently and y also needed to improve quality of ir game. Taking blame of defeat on his shoulders, he said that y h to only play for an hour and a half, but his wicket was taken on first ball itself. He also revealed that he was nervous when he came out to bat.
