Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently serving a year-long ban from cricket imposed by the ICC, was hit with a severe blow as the global body removed his name from the latest updated T20I rankings.

Shakib was ranked second in the ICC's all-rounders' list before he was banned last month by ICC for failure to report corruption approaches from a bookie. The 32-year-old cricketer is one of the best all-rounders in the world. He was also the part of Bangladesh squad that played in the recently concluded World Cup 2019 in England. In the showpiece-event, he put up impeccable performances with both bat and ball. Also, Shakib became the first player to score more than 600 runs and take more than 10 wickets for his side in the World Cup.
Shakib Al Hasan was also ranked 9th in the T20I bowling rankings and 32nd on the batting charts. But as per the updated rankings released by ICC on Monday after the end of the three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh, Shakib's name was left out from the T20I list. What comes as a shock is Shakib Al Hasan is still placed third in the world in Tests and top-ranked in ODIs amongst all-rounders. However, it wouldn't come as a surprise if he is dropped from Tests too.

After Shakib Al Hasan's exclusion, former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi has climbed on to the top-spot among T20I all-rounders with Glenn Maxwell behind him on the second spot. Current Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad is now the country's highest-ranked all-rounder in the world placed on the fourth spot.
