Shakib doubts captaincy after Bangladesh Test loss against Afghanistan

Bangladesh cricket team’s captain Shakib Al Hasan has made a statement saying that it will be best if he didn’t lead the team after losing to Afganistan.

Banglesh cricket team’s captain Shakib Al Hasan has me a statement about his captaincy saying that it will be best if he didn’t have to le  team. This comes after a defeat from Afghanistan - new entrants in test cricket format. Shakib has taken full responsibility of defeat in one-off match at Chattogram. Shakib Al Hassan has been captain of Banglesh since 2017, he also held position of captain and vice-captain in between 2009 and 2011. Widely regarded as best cricketer in Banglesh, he was also ranked as world's most famous athletes by ESPN 'WORLD FAME 100' in 2019.

Shakib Al Hasan's statement 

32-year-old player said that he believed that  decision to leave captaincy will also be good for his game. He also dropped a hint that re will be a lot of discussions with board if he continues being captain. Shakib, during ICC World Cup, finished third on list of highest run-scorers, he scored 606 runs in eight innings. Apart from this, left-arm spinner also picked up 11 wickets during World Cup season. After World Cup, Shakib took a break during Banglesh’s tour of Sri Lanka. ir team lost all three ODIs during this tour as well.

Match against Afghanistan 

Afghanistan was playing its third match after officially being recognized as a test-playing nation. Banglesh lost to Afghanistan by 224 runs on Monday. rains also interfered in last day of match series on Monday when 18 overs of game were left to be bowled. Later, Shakib’s wicket was taken which created pressure on team. Shakib explained that his team will have to play well consistently and y also needed to improve quality of ir game. Taking blame of defeat on his shoulders, he said that y h to only play for an hour and a half, but his wicket was taken on first ball itself. He also revealed that he was nervous when he came out to bat.
