Amid worrying pollution levels and hazardous quality of air, India will be taking on Bangladesh in what can be termed as the kick-start to the team's T20 World Cup preparations. Shikhar Dhawan took to social media to express confidence ahead of the game on Sunday and posted a few pictures of himself sweating it out in the nets. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan's opening partner Rohit Sharma will lead the young Indian side against Bangladesh in two T20s.

During a media interaction ahead of the 1st T20I in Delhi, Rohit Sharma had spoken about giving the opportunity to the youngsters as well. "There are a lot of younger players now as I had said at the start. Sanju probably is one of them who has been performing quite well for the last few years in the domestic circuit, IPL and Shivam is somebody who has just come into the ranks probably last year. He (Shivam) has made his mark just before last year's IPL auctions which is why people who were so keen to buy him in the team. So, they both have talent and a lot of ability. We have seen that in the domestic circuit as well how they have performed how they have played", said Rohit Sharma.

The four-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma has successfully led India to impressive victories whenever Virat Kohli made himself unavailable. Even in 2018’s Nidahas Trophy, Rohit Sharma led a spirited Indian unit to tri-series win after losing the first match of the tournament. In the final game against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma top-scored with 56 to lead the charge of India’s successful run-chase. The right-handed batsman has led Team India to 12 wins in 15 T20 internationals. With a win percentage of 80%, Rohit Sharma holds a better success rate than other T20 veterans like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Sharma has also led India in 10 ODI matches.
