The Mumbai lad made his T20 debut for Mumbai in the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Hardik Pandya’s injury has opened up doors for him into the Indian team. He was rewarded for his consistent performances for India A this year and for Mumbai in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Let us look at Dube's top 4 knocks:
India A vs South Africa A, First Unofficial ODI:
Shivam Dube came in to bat in when the team was in a spot of bother. India A had lost five wickets for 169 in the 28th over. Just when Dube thought that he was stitching a partnership with Krunal Pandya, he got out too. There was a need to stabilise the innings, just knock the ball around for singles but it was not Dube’s way of approaching the innings. Dube made South Africa A pay for their mistakes scoring an unbeaten 60-ball 79 including three fours and six sixes which helped the team to reach a massive total of 327 for 6 in 47 overs.

India A vs South Africa A, Third Unofficial ODI:
India A were in a tough situation at 25 for 3 in the 7th over, having lost Ruturaj Gaikwad (1), Ricky Bhui (0) and Krunal Pandya (13) before Ishan Kishan (40 off 41 balls) and Pandey steadied the ship. Dube walked in at the fall of Nitish Rana (13), added 41 runs with Pandey. Dube smashed an unbeaten 45 off 28 balls while Pandey plundered 81 off 59 balls as India A overcame a poor start to win the rain-affected match rather comfortably in the end. Chasing 208 in 30 overs, India A reached the target in 27.5 overs.

NaMo Bandra Blasters vs Shivaji Park Lions, Mumbai T20 League:
After being put in to bat, Blasters managed just 152/4 in 20 overs. Skipper Shreyas Iyer managed to score just 7 while Sujit Nayak was unbeaten on 54 off 35 balls and took his side to a decent position. Chasing 153 Dube scored an unbeaten 87 off 46 balls but it was not enough for the Lions to reach the target of 153 as they failed to score 18 runs off the last over. Barring Dube, no other batsmen contributed to the team's cause.
Mumbai vs Karnataka, Vijay Hazare Trophy:
Karnataka was put in to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here, Karnataka posted a healthy 312/7. Apart from Dube, other Mumbai batsmen were unable to put up a fight. However, Dube had other plans as he took on the opposition bowlers and slammed a quick-fire 118 in 67 balls, with seven fours and 10 sixes. While wickets kept tumbling at the other end, Dube played his natural aggressive game. However, the experienced Abhimanyu Mithun scalped Dube’s crucial wicket in the 42nd over with and Mumbai went on to lose the match.
