Cape Town Blitz skipper Quinton de Kock pulled a leaf out of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni's book during match against Durban Heat on 17 vember, as he pulled off a Dhonisque style run-out. On many occasions, wicketkeepers have drawn inspiration from MS Dhoni and his diverse keeping techniques to improvise ir skills behind tickets. De Kock, who is alrey familiar with some of Dhoni's tricks, pulled ar one out of his bag, this time one where he played a shrewd keeper who did t give any hint of running batsman out until very last moment when he dislodged bails. Playing patience game, de Kock stood behind wickets with his hands to his side, as he waited for Ackerman to pick ball and throw it towards keeper's end. batsman, Phehlukwayo, who thought he could complete two runs was outsmarted by de Kock as keeper quickly grabbed throw from Ackerman and dislodged bails in a flash, sending batsman packing.

De Kock les Cape Town Blitz

De Kock will be leing Cape Town Blitz in second edition of Mzansi Super League, starting on vember 8. series will see him donning mantle of captain, wicketkeeper and batsman. Though some think taking on multiple roles may be burdensome, De Kock said that ditional duties would only positively impact his captaincy. He said that standing behind wicket, he would be at center of action and in a better position to assess field movements and placements.  Talking about national team’s poor performance this year, De Kock said that it was due to a transitional period within team, and it was reason for worry. He said that he was confident team would mature and show its full potential in coming days.
