Shreyas Iyer Showcases Jaw-Dropping Bowling Skills, Readies Himself as an All-Rounder Before 1st ODI

Team India gears up to compete in the longer white-ball format as they face off against Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series at Colombo. After a series sweep, India is riding high on dominance, with the new era receiving a successful start. The Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India secured a 3-0 sweep and the batters were able to showcase their prowess in the bowling sector. The challenge will be bigger in Sri Lanka as the hosts will come in with determination to win the series. But ahead of the ODIs, another batter has been showcasing his all-around skills in the nets.

Senior Players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have joined the Team India camp with several other players like Harshit Rana and Shreyas Iyer. All of the players have been putting in the effort as they take up some training in the nets ahead of their match against the Lankan Lions. Throughout the camps during the tour, several players could be seen stepping out of their comfort zone and doing something unconventional, like Hardik Pandya doing spin bowling. A similar instance took place in the nets before the ODIs.
In a video shared by the BCCI on X (Formerly Twitter), Shreyas Iyer makes his India comeback after missing out on his central contract with the Central Cricket Board. Iyer was seen taking up some bowling in the nets and faced off against a batter. You could see him bowling at 00:50 seconds.

Seeing Shreyas Iyer bowling in the nets is something which does not happen all the time. But ever since Gautam Gambhir took over as the head coach, a lot of players have been experimenting with different things whenever they practice.

One of the biggest game-changing moments in the T20I series was when skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh bowled in the death overs. The decision was pivotal as India restricted Sri Lanka and led the match into a super-over. Eventually, it was the Men in Blue who stood strong as they delivered a potent performance in the super-over showdown.
