Shubman Gill led Team India are currently touring Zimbabwe for a five match T20I series. Accompanied by coach VVS Laxman, the young Indian side are on their first T20I assignment in the post Kohli-Rohit era. After India won the T20 World Cup on June 29, 2024, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from the shortest format of the game and have now passed the baton of Indian cricket to the next generation. The series is currently levelled at 1-1.
Team India's Day Out In Zimbabwe
The young guns of Team India sustained an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe in the first T20I of the series. Sikandar Raza's high-spirited Zimbabwe comfortably defeated the 'Men in Blue by 13 runs and gained the required momentum. India on the other hand were determined to return the favour and they left Raza's side begging for answers in the second T20I. Courtesy of a blistering 100 from Abhishek Sharma, India registered 234 runs in their quota of 20 overs and defeated Zimbabwe by 100 runs.

T20 World Cup winning trio, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson joined the Indian Cricket team ahead of the third match. The young guns of India later enjoyed a breather as they travelled to a wildlife sanctuary in Zimbabwe. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a short video from the Team's day out.

The Start Of Gautam Gambhir Era In Indian Cricket
After the culmination of IND vs ZIM T20I series, Team India will travel to Sri Lanka for a limited overs series. The 'men in blue' will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in the away series and this will be Gautam Gambhir's first stint as Team India Head Coach. Gambhir has taken over as Rahul Dravid as the Head Coach of Team India. Prior to this, Gambhir was associated as a mentor with Kolkata Knight Riders (2024) and Lucknow Super Giants (2022 & 2023). Gautam Gambhir is a two time IPL winner and has also won two ICC Trophies.
