'Ball colour to be a challenge': Simon Taufel

India will be hosting Bangladesh in a Day-Night Test match at the iconic Eden Gardens on November 22. Ahead of the most eagerly anticipated occasions, Simon Taufel spoke about the challenges that the pink ball will offer.

"The first challenge is going to be the colour of the ball and deal with the changing nature of the ball. It may swing early on but behave differently as it ages," Taufel told ANI.

The pink colour of the ball is not the only challenge the teams are going to face in the day-night Test match according to Taufel. Other challenges he feels teams are going to witness are different session times. "Playing Test cricket at night with dew is also going to be a challenge and the moisture may affect the ball and I am expecting more ball changes occurring due to the ball being wet or being, maybe, discoloured and becoming unfit for playing," he said."There is also the challenge of playing in different session times and finishing the game late at night and starting in the afternoon. So that is going to be a challenge and players will have to get accustomed to playing day-night cricket," Taufel added.

'We are all very excited about it': Virat Kohli

"When the pink bowl arrived we were quite excited but then there is excitement before every match that we play. I haven't played with the pink ball before so I was given an opportunity to try it and I wanted to and that was my intent behind playing with the pink ball. I think everyone else did it as well because you need extra concentration to pick the pink ball suddenly when you have been used to the red ball", said Virat Kohli.
