Smith breaks his own record of 769 runs, scores 774 runs in the Ashes

Steve Smith breaks his own record of 769 runs scored against India in the 2014-15 season, scoring 774 runs against England in the ongoing fifth Ashes Test.

He me last record during 2014-15 season. In ongoing fifth Ashes Test match against England, Smith has w a total of 774 runs in series. As of September 2019, according to ICC player rankings, Steve Smith is top-ranked Test batsman in world.

In 2019 Ashes series, Steve Smith played a kck of 23 runs in final innings of fifth Test before getting caught by Ben Stokes at leg gully off Stuart Bro on his lowest score. 30-year-old batsman is at his finest form as he scored three 100s, in four-test games that he played. Smith failed to play in third as a consequence of a concussion after he was hit by Jofra Archer's bouncer on his he in second Test. While 30-year-old has charmed everyone with his batting skills, he has also mand to grab spotlight on field as well.

During 87th over of England's second innings which was bowled by Mitchell Marsh, Marsh h bowled a fuller one outside off stump. Chris Woakes h attempted a drive but was unsuccessful. As ball took outside edge and flew wide of Steve Smith who was present at second slip Smith caught it. Smith dived to his right and pulled off a blinder as Woakes walked back to pavilion.
