Ganguly was recently appointed as President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) while Rahul Dravid is head of National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Both former cricketers had a meeting at NCA in Bengaluru earlier this week. While speaking in a press conference, Ganguly said that y had a good meeting in which y discussed functioning of NCA. meeting went on for two hours, and without elaborating much, he stated that re were plans to get national coach Ravi Shastri more 'involved' with activities of NCA till his contract ends.

For getting Shastri involved in NCA, it will be forming a committee for same. Ganguly expressed his optimism about NCA’s role in future of Indian cricket despite some of criticism it has faced recently while handling injuries of players such as Wriddhiman Saha. BCCI President added that even Indian captain Virat Kohli is extremely passionate about cause of developing NCA into Indian cricket's ultimate Centre of Excellence. 113-Test veteran also expressed his enthusiasm about upcoming pink-ball Test between India and Bangladesh at Eden Gardens later this month.

Indian coach Ravi Shastri is currently involved with cricket team for ir home assignment against Bangladesh. Team India are scheduled to play three T20Is and two Test matches. Ganguly-Durjoy Test series between two nations will also form a part of ongoing inaugural ICC World Test Championship.
