Sourav Ganguly slammed by Indian governing body of disabled cricketers for lack of empathy
A senior PCCAI official recently slammed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly for not looking into the financial matters of the differently-abled cricketers.

Former Indian captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly was recently slammed by Ravi Chauhan. Chauhan is secretary general of Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India (PCCAI), who alleged that by t paying differently-abled cricketers ir dues, BCCI is t following its own constitution as mandated by Lodha reforms. PCCAI secretary general issued a scathing statement against Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI on Monday.

In a media statement released on Monday, Ravi Chauhan said that when Sourav Ganguly was elected as BCCI President, many disabled cricketers were hopeful that he would change fate of board just as he h done with Indian cricket when he first became captain. He said hopes were furr raised when re were a few meetings between disabled cricketers and Sourav Ganguly but thing has materialised till w. Chauhan stated that ir hopes have w turned into disappointment.
Amidst ongoing coronavirus global pandemic and India lockdown, differently-abled cricketers in India have been left struggling for ir livelihood, according to PCCAI secretary general. He ded that such players are working as eir labourers or taking up or menial jobs because BCCI and government does t give importance to disabled sports in country. Chauhan also said that while it is very common and “fashionable” for BCCI or or governing officials to get ir pictures ed with disabled cricketers for international glory but y do t really care about m.

He also alleged Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI of t following constitution mandated by Lodha reforms, which states that a committee must be formed for differently-abled cricketers. According to Chauhan, “donating some money to some individuals” for making into newspaper helines is solution. He claimed that one is rey to take “bull by its horns” and talked about disabled cricketers’ requirement of equal opportunity from ir board.

BCCI comes up with IPL 2020 dates and venue
In or news, Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI and Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council recently came up with a venue and a timeframe for IPL 2020 season. IPL 2020 will w be played between September 19 and vember 10 and it will be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to rising coronavirus-positive patients in India. much-awaited IPL 2020 season was originally intended to launch on March 29 before pandemic forced a disruption to sport.
