Ganguly is rewned for bringing Indian cricket out of a tough phase in early 2000s when y suffered from a massive match-fixing scandal. t only did he ensure Indian cricket's safety but it also took it to greater heights by backing more young players and instilling a strong belief in team that y can win anywhere in world across all formats of game. With fans sceptical about BCCI's im, former Indian captain emerges as arguably best candidate to take charge.

He claimed that he had earlier requested COA to do so but y did t pay heed to his suggestions.
