Sourav Ganguly yet to pay last season's match fees of Indian domestic players: Report
Recent reports indicate that several Indian domestic cricketers are yet to receive their match fees from the BCCI for playing in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20.

Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was appointed as President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in September 2019. Around time of his appointment, he stated that one of his main areas of focus going forward will be to bolster domestic cricketing structure of country and to make sure that every domestic player gets duly paid. However, recent reports indicate that many cricketers are yet to receive ir match fees from ir participation in 2019-20 Indian domestic cricket season.

Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI lagging behind in payment of players
According to a report in Times of India, several cricketers have stated that y are yet to receive ir match fees from recently concluded domestic season, i.e. from ir participation in tournaments like Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji Trophy 2019-20. Indian season ended with 2019-20 Ranji Trophy final on March 13 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
reports indicate that players from Mumbai, Bengal, Tripura, Maharashtra are among some teams whose players are yet to receive ir match fees. While one player confirmed same in a statement, ar player said that he is yet to receive any revenue from previous three seasons. reported n-payment of fees by BCCI is a matter of concern for cricketers, who are currently homebound due to coronavirus global pandemic.

ongoing coronavirus-induced India lockdown has already forced BCCI to indefinitely postpone launch of Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) season. Moreover, in wake of recent skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops at Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, BCCI is reportedly reconsidering ir sponsorship deal with VIVO, a Chinese smartphone manufacturing company.

Apart from VIVO IPL deal, Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI is w also in a contract dispute with American sportswear manufacturer Nike. BCCI Nike deal is one of oldest sponsorship associations of Indian board that dates back to 2006. Due to losses Nike has incurred during coronavirus phase and shutdown of sporting activities, y are reportedly asking for discounts as well as a contract extension beyond September due to lost time.

Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI’s stance on IPL 2020
IPL 2020 was originally intended to launch on March 29. According to Mumbai Mirror, BCCI is contemplating to organise IPL 2020 between September-vember if proposed T20 World Cup in Australia gets shifted to a later date. International Cricket Council (ICC) is scheduled to take a call on fate of T20 World Cup in July.
