SRH all-rounder Vijay Shankar 'frustrated' with IPL 2020 postponement
SRH all-rounder Vijay Shankar has expressed his frustration over the postponement of the 13th edition of the IPL due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Tamil Nadu batsman Vijay Shankar has expressed his frustration over postponement of IPL 2020 due to coronavirus outbreak. Vijay Shankar feels that indefinite postponement of tournament has robbed players off a chance to put ir names in contention for T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Australia later this year.

On Tuesday. lockdown in India was extended to May 3 due to a rise in number of coronavirus cases in country. This means that IPL 2020 won't be taking place in its customary April-May window this year. BCCI has also postponed IPL 2020 indefinitely.
Vijay Shankar talks on IPL 2020 postponed indefinitely
While talking to Hindu, Vijay Shankar said that IPL is an important tournament because it is time one can play T20 cricket for close to two months. Vijay Shankar added that one good IPL can change a player’s career and it is a bit 'frustrating' to miss out on it. Vijay Shankar furr said that it isn't as much about selection as it is about playing as y just want to play cricket.

Before start of World Cup 2019, Vijay Shankar was India’s .4 batsman in ODI cricket. In fact, before tournament, he had backing of Indian captain Virat Kohli. However, something changed as he was t given number of opportunities as expected.

But n, Shankar got tragically injured his foot in a training session and was ruled out of World Cup. Since n, he has t made a comeback to Indian side. Vijay Shankar would look to put in some inspiring performances for SRH if tournament takes place. A good outing at IPL 2020 for SRH can put him in contention for T20 World Cup.
