Star Indian Batter Smriti Mandhana Joins Adelaide Strikers For WBBL 2024

India's star batter Smriti Mandhana will be featuring in the 2024 edition of the Women's Big Bash League as she has joined 2-time Champions Adelaide Strikers. The Adelaide Strikers have already won the WBBL twice in a row in 2022 and 2023. With the signing of Mandhana, they will be hoping to make it three in a row.

Smriti Mandhana has featured in earlier editions of the WBBL. She played three seasons in the WBBL with Hobart Hurricanes, Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades. 

Reunited With Luke Williams 

Smriti Mandhana will be reunited with Luke Williams when she plays for Adelaide Strikers. Luke Williams is the coach for the Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL as well as the coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the WPL. 

“I always look forward to playing in Australia, and I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to a team with a history of success like the Strikers. I’m thrilled to continue working with Luke. Our previous experiences together have been so rewarding, and I’m looking forward to building on that,” said Mandhana. 

Luke Williams was also full of enthusiasm as Smriti Mandhana joined the Strikers.

Mandhana's WBBL Record 

Smriti Mandhana did not feature in the last two editions of the WBBL. She has had a total of 38 matches in the T20 league. In 38 matches she has a total of 784 runs with an average of 24.50 with a strike-rate of 130.01. 

Smriti Mandhana's top score in the T20 league is of 114 runs in 64 balls. She made this score against the Melbourne Renegades back in 2021.
